This morning I finally got around to sweeping the last of the fall leaves off my deck. When I went out, I had a fun surprise. The pot where I grew lettuce in the fall has sprouted some new plants in the middle of winter! They’re about 3 inches high, so I’m hoping that they make it into a salad in a week or two if it doesn’t get too cold.
I love how resilient and persevering life can be. Those two chilly little plants cheered me right up. If they can grow in the middle of a pretty cold January, then what else is possible?
