I can remember the first time that I kneaded dough by hand. It was the first time that I made pasta from scratch. I was amazed at how wobbly my arms felt after 15 minutes of heavy kneading and 30 minutes of hand cranking the pasta. You may have gathered from my last post that I am not an avid gym member. Usually, my workouts consist of hiking or strolling. This means that the muscles in my arms aren’t as toned as they could be.
Let me tell you, if you are like me, adding dough kneading to your cooking schedule a couple times a week will definitely help whip you into (slightly) better shape. I can happily say that I now can knead with gusto. The nice thing about this verse lifting weights, is that at the end, you have a marvelous meal in sight.

It is totally true! I too, can remember the first time that I kneaded dough and it was quite a workout experience!
Sammybuny – Can you imagine how strong women must have been a hundred years ago? They used to make all their bread one day a week. Think of your poor muscles times 3 or 4 loaves of bread. Thanks for commenting!
Actually, three or four loaves would not cut it, not even close. My husband’s grandmother made 10-12. Families were much, much larger before late marriages and birth control. Just food for thought.
