Sounds like a great recipe, can't wait to try it! I also use the stems when I steam or saute broccoli but my friend I eat with often, does not care for them. I think this is one recipe he will also enjoy and appreciate. Thanks!

Good directions and very nice looking rug. I tried a braided rug out of strips of blanket material and found the same problem with getting it too tight to sew the strips together. Took time to work it out, but the rug is wonderful underfoot during our mid-west winters. I really enjoy your website and am still learning at 70 years.

Fantastic Blog - I recommend to people a more RAW approach to eating veggies (i.e unsteamed or uncooked if possible). However the stem of the brocolli, peeled and steamed, is a most forgotten part of the vegetable…..but packed full of goodness! Tastes great!

I know this is an older post, but I just needed to comment.
I have recently learned the joy of my local library. Like you say it is AWESOME to be able to search for books online then go in once a week to pick them up when the come to your branch. The reason I learned about the library, was twofold, one I was looking for cheap things to do with my son, and 2 having just had a child, and not returning to work, it was time to save as much money as possible, and my and my husbands $100/month addiction to the bookstore just couldn't be justified. It is great to be able to take out 10 books on one subject, sift through 5 and immediatly decided they are no good, to find the 1 that is good. By doing this my husband and I have been able to be more choosy with the books we buy. Now when we do spend money on a book, it is referenced over and over and over again.

I have also discoved an even better use for the library, free DVD movie rentals. The selection isn't as good as the video store, but you get them for a week.

Ironicaly when I was reading your blog I came across "keeping food fresh" and decided to request that book from the library before I read this post.
