I started knitting my first sock over the weekend. The scarf that I have been working on is quite long and warm, not exactly perfect for Florida knitting. I thought that since socks are small, they would be perfect for working on in the airplane. Unfortunately, this assumes that one is not a klutz. About 30 minutes into my flight, I dropped a teeny tiny needle through the seat and into someone else’s bag.
How do I know it was in her bag? Being the handy sort, I fished out my flashlight key-chain, and saw it resting on her bag. When I leaned back to ask her to look for it, she gave me a funny look, but she did go through her purse and couldn’t find it. So I spent the whole weekend knitting on four needles instead of five. On my flight back, I made sure to grab a blanket as soon as I got on the plane, and stuffed it into the crack so that I couldn’t do that again. Live and learn I suppose.
