When I first started this blog, one of the things that I was curious about was how many of these experiments would make their way into my everyday life. Homemade yogurt is definitely here to stay. It is significantly cheaper to make homemade organic yogurt than to buy it in the grocery store (even when you are buying the quart containers). In fact, it costs about half the price if you make it yourself, and all you need is a couple tablespoons of yogurt, milk, warm water, and an insulated container.
If you haven’t tried to make it yourself yet, you are in for a treat! My favorite breakfast right now is a bowlful of yogurt with either honey or homemade preserves stirred in. There is no need for fancy store-bought flavors when you still have half a dozen jars of Gingered Pear preserves in the pantry.
