I am off on Monday to go camping with a friend. Well, it’s not really camping per se. We are going to be staying in a primitive cabin in the Virginia Appalachian Mountains. If you live in the DC area, I highly recommend checking out Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, which owns a bunch of back-country cabins that are very reasonably priced. The cabin we are staying at is a two mile hike in, so I’m busy dehydrating food for the trip. (Thanks Alicia for letting me borrow your dehydrator!)
So the moral of this post is that I am going to be out of pocket for the next few days. I’ll be back on Thursday, full of camp food tips. If you have any recipes for me to try before Monday, I would appreciate them too! Good backpack-worthy food is sometimes hard to come up with.
I have no tips as I’ve never done anything even remotely like camping, I’m going for the first time in June, but I hope you have a great time! Be safe!
Thanks Meg! I love camping, so I hope that you enjoy your first time.
